Back in the day, the tradition of drinking and eating establishments were to foster community and connect people across generations. Well The Wakery is no different. With our hand-crafted list of delicious NA cocktails, NA beers and wines, locally roasted coffee, and fresh, local pastries and bites, we offer a vibe for all to relax, connect, and converse.
Our Story
Founder/Owner Elizabeth Wake
Avid coffee drinker, night owl, gardener, world traveler, baker. Somehow all of these things came together to make me want to open up a late night coffeehouse and NA bar. I love new and interesting flavors, creating complex drinks and baked goods, and the challenge of making NA more exciting and fun.
As a Springfield native, I saw a need in our downtown community to have more to our nightlife than alcohol centered bars.
I personally love to enjoy conversation over coffee, work or study somewhere other than my house, and gather with friends without the pressure to drink.
I don't hold any personal negativity towards alcohol, but I love having options.
I'm excited for fun alternatives in Springfield, IL, and I'm excited to watch our downtown thrive.

Job Description
The Wakery is seeking employees excited about the mission to bring positive nightlife to downtown Springfield.
Tasks include:
- Taking orders
- Making drinks
- Serving drinks and food
- Bussing tables
- Washing dishes
- Cash register
- Cleaning
- Preparing product
- Taking inventory
- Customer service
Hours and Pay
Full time or part time positions may be available.

Weekend availability is preferred - but we often have room for flexible scheduling.
Starting Wage $14/hr plus tips
